Tirunelveli City is located on the banks of river Thamirabarani. This city is famous for Halwa and sweets. The important tourist places of Tirunelveli's are Courtallam, Papanasam, Manimutahar, Nellaiyappar temple.

Manimuthar Dam
Manimuthar Dam is located 47kms away from tirunelveli and is built on the river of Tamirabarani. It is
located at just 20 km from the town of Papanasam. The dam is situated on
the way from Ambasamudram to Pechiparai. Manimuthar Dam is an ideal picnic spot blessed
with beautiful garden and peaceful atmosphere.
Nellaiappar Temple
This temple is situated at Tirunrlveli Town.Nellaiappar temple is one of the famous Shiva Temple. A little to south of Swami Nellaiappar Gopuram stands the Gopuram of Sri Kanthimathi Ambal temple.

is Situated 38 kms. from Tirunelveli city. It is a small village.This
village is sparsely populated. Migratory birds start coming by December
end and fly away to their northern homes by June or July after they lay
eggs, hatch them and the young ones grow old enough to fly with the
older ones. About 35 species of birds visit this calm but congenial
village for breeding.
Papanasam
Papanasm is situated 42 km from west of Thirunelveli. The natural beauty of this place is enhanced
by the Agasthiyar falls by which the Tamparani river descends into the
plains. The water drops from a height of 100m over a wall of rock is covered
on both sides by forested hills of the Western Ghats.
